This place is elegant and oddly enough affordable. More beautiful and romantic than any restaurant in the area. Outdoor seating on the water polishes off the experience. Two observations I find worth mentioning... 1. A low grade of light green almost yellow tasteless olive oil is used with dried herbs for the 10 Star bread which is plentifully served. This is astonishing! 2. Only two toilets in the elegant and spotlessly clean bathroom in this huge and gorgeous establishment. Which I understand is most often standing room only most nights. CB will give Mon Ami's run for it's money since Caio Bella serves lunch and Mon Ami's does not.

Ok first off this place has a very nice atmosphere and great food... but the customer service is horrible. We sat at the bar and the bartender was sort of "matter of fact" and blunt. Which is fine but she wasn't overly friendly and that was fine too. So the food was great and their featured cocktails were great! We got the bacon wrapped dates which were sweet and very rich. Then we split the lobster al forno and that was fantastic! That being said once my girlfriend was about to finish her drink, she had to spit it out. She notice not one but three LARGE fruit flies. We told the bartender and she was not too appalled or apologetic. She did take the drink off our bill but we had to wait on a manager to approve it. The manger did come approve it but she did not apologize or even say anything to us at all. Then the bartender didn't hand us a check she just shouted out our total. So now everyone knows how much we spent and we never received an itemized bill. It was just a nice meal, followed by a bad experience compounded by worse customer service. They handled it so calmly that I have a feeling this isn't the first time this has happened and it probably won't be the last.

Excellent! Excellent! Excellent! Started off with great ambiance. Dark wood colors, beautiful bar, and amazing atmosphere. Had drinks in bar with the fabulous bartender, Lisa. Had a CA Merlot & orange/lemon martini. Amazing!!! Had French ginger liquor in it! Appetizer was fresh tomatoes from their garden, HOMEMADE mozzarella, and fresh basil. Met the general manager, Mary Ann, who was such a dear. Kind & professional. On to dinner, we ordered the Pancetta & Peas & Shrimp, which was unbelievable!!! Mouthwatering! And I had the chicken piccata which was lemony! But shrimp and peas was amazing!!! Wonderful place! Highly recommend!!!

This place is absolutely a must. First of all our server had such a great personality and he was very friendly. The bread is great and the salads are hearty. I got the spaghetti and meatballs which was delicious. We ended the night with the chocolate caramel cake which I posted a picture of. I highly recommend sitting outside by the water if there's space available.

I wanted to give them a good review. It's a very pretty restaurant and I love the ambiance, but the service we got when we came for lunch a couple weeks ago was crappy. Our server barely checked on us, didn't refill any drinks, asked if we wanted freshly grated cheese on our entrees, and then took forever to get it. We sat with empty plates for at least 15 minutes and couldn't find her anywhere to order dessert or get the check. We would've ordered dessert if she'd asked, but she didn't. I felt like the food was pretty good and prices weren't bad.

We stopped in for an early dinner today and it was not busy and we were seated immediately. Our waitress was at our table quickly and had a big smile, was super friendly and very lovely. She took our drink order and brought that along with the delicious bread with olive oil and seasoning quickly. The bread was warm, soft and yummy...the olive oil and spices were perfect. I ordered the Lasagna and my husband ordered the Portbobello Ravioli. He had eaten there in January and loved the ravioli. Food came out quickly and was very delicious. My Lasagna was one pound and I ate about 1/3 and brought the rest home. My husband savored his ravioli because it was that good. Overall, we loved it and we will be back! Good job!

The place was beautiful... outside had the nice water.. it was too cold to sit outside when we went. Plus we had the kids with us. The appetizers were so good.. love the mussels.. my friend like her salmon soup.. but she didn't like her entree she said it was too salty which made me try it.. yea it was salty.. and her husband had the ribeye he said it was a small portion but it was okay.. I had the linguini with clams and I loved my dish.. overall it was okay.. the sangria didn't taste like sangria it literally taste like white wine with a sliced of orange... like come on...

We are so lucky these days to have some good restaurants in the Catawba/port Clinton area and Ciao Bella can not be missed! They have inexpensive, pared down lunch specials for us working folk and they have a great outdoor patio for seating in warm weather. You can get fantastic, authentic wood-fired pizzas or you can get Osso Bucco. I highly recommend the bacon-wrapped dates appetizer and please save room for dessert. I generally don't order desserts at a restaurant but here I make an exception as they have a pastry chef who's creations are worth the indulgence.

Good wine selection, the house Cabernet - "Indian Wells" is very nice, deep fruity, jammy and served by the glass. The Italian sausage stuffed mushrooms are great. The Caesar salad was made the right way with anchovies. I highly recommend the lasagna, my son and I both enjoyed it. The meal ended with a great peach and cherry cobbler made from local Bergman's peaches. Our waiter Brad was informative, accommodating, conversational and really on top of things. Overall a great dinning experience.

Maybe the best italian meal I have ever had in Ohio. Absolutly wonderful! Had the eggplant regatoni, wife had the salmon salad.

This restaurant was excellent. I ordered Spaghetti Marinara. They have great bread and oil for dipping. Our waitress was wonderful. Had the Red Velvet Brownie for dessert... yum! Everthing is made fresh and customizable. We'll definitely go back.

We have dined here 3 times, the food is delicious and hot! The atmosphere is great. Service is typically very good, but we actually had poor service on a slow night. Server and others seemed to just walk around without purpose, while we had empty glasses and finished plates. Fully plan on going back again, as stated food is amazing.

Located in what appears to be a relatively new commercial development. After being seated by the hostess who brought our water and bread and olive oil, we waited for 10 minutes or more before a waitress arrived. She apologized for the delay and took our order. The orders arrived much quicker than we expected given the longer than usual wait to be acknowledged by the wait staff. I had the Lobster Al Forno - a house specialty - which was very good. My wife had the rigatoni which she said was also very good. We were happy with the experience, even with the long wait. I would recommend the restaurant.

Went on a Wednesday night...so the place was not busy, but our service was still very very slow. NEVER tell the waiter/waitress you need a little more time to make your order, as that could turn into an hour. Wine selection and prices given it was half price bottle night, along with solid food quality, saved it from being a total wash-out. One of our group had previous poor service but it was on a holiday (NYE), so we had ignored that as being a one-off, but after our experience on a slow night, this place really needs to focus on it's service standards and training.

I'm going a bit out on a limb with a five star since we ordered take out, but my gf assures me the table service is superb. We had a party of four, and got the mushroom appetizer, chicken and spinach salad, sausage and white bean soup, lobster al forno, some seafood with angel hair pasta thing that's not on the menu anymore but my gf talked to the chef (super nice guy) who said he would whip it up for her, and my order. Spaghetti and meatballs. The gf said no, you can't be boring here, everything is fabulous. Order something else. I said honey bunny, I'm really in the mood for spaghetti and the only way to really judge an Italian restaurant is by their red sauce. Everything was fabulous. This place is a gem! The only sounds you could hear when we were chowing down were moans and groans and the occasional oh my God! Great place.

We decided to try this place based upon a few recommendations. Our server, Susan seemed to genuinely enjoy her job and provided excellent service. We agreed that we would ask to sit in her section on our next visit (have already made a future reservation). Susan encouraged us to try the bacon wrapped dates and they were just as delectable as she promised (very rich...an amazing flavor combination). The wedge salad had several fruits mixed in making it unique. The chicken piccata and Sicilian pork were both very good (I preferred the piccata). The chocolate caramel cake with sea salt sprinkled on top was sinfully good. The servings are plentiful and leftovers were placed in microwave safe containers (a real plus for such a touristy locale). Definitely make a reservation as this place appears to be steadily gaining in popularity.

We will never return to this restaurant! Friday night we were seated by an employee, took our drink order. Approached by older woman and we were told that we were seated incorrectly and we would have to leave our table. Our server couldn't believe the hostess was kicking us out of our table! The server was horrified! Shows that it is poorly managed! Food is not that great (eaten there many times before) and with that experience I will spend my money elsewhere. We had an awesome dinner at the Nor' Easter club that night instead.

My son and I ate dinner here (we're in the area for the great birdwatching). Overall excellent. The service was outstanding - attentive, friendly and knowledgeable. Decent selection of beer. My son had portobello ravioli and said it was great. I had bronzini (Mediterranean sea bass), prepared very well. The salad was also good. Really, no complaints. I hope this place stays in business; as others have mentioned, it's in an otherwise desolate mall near the airport. High end food, reasonably priced.

I'm debating between a 3 and 4 star rating for Ciao Bella. We went on a Sunday, and they currently can't sell alcohol on Sunday's. Not a show stopper for us, it's just I was in the mood for something to drink. They had it prominently displayed, so at least we didn't order something before they told us. It has a great atmosphere on the inside. Very nicely decorated and modern. It's too bad for them that the surrounding shopping center is essentially vacant. Hopefully they got a great deal on the lease, and some of the openings will get filled soon. We managed to get the Lunch menu even though it was fairly late in the afternoon (4:00). The service was extremely good. The only possible issue, was that I thought they forgot to tell the kitchen to leave something off my dish (mussels, as I don't like shells in my food). Turned out the dish also had clams, which was what I saw. Again, I'm not a fan of food with the shells still on, so I'm not too familiar with the differences of the two. The server was always there with a fresh Iced Tea whenever the glass was close to running out. She also checked on us regularly to see if anything was needed. I'd definitely give the service a 4.5 out of 5. Our salads were fairly good. I got the Caesar and my wife got the Side Salad. We got the smaller versions as a side for our dinners. The Caesar did require a bit of fresh ground pepper, but it was pretty good nonetheless. For dinner, I got the Frutti di Mari. The shrimp and scallops were prepared extremely well. The sauce had a kick, but was not overly spicy. A large helping of pasta accompanied that was still steaming minutes after serving. My wife had the chicken Marsala and was very happy with it. The Marsala sauce was a bit thick (gravy consistency), but had a good flavor and wasn't too bland like some places. All in all, we will be back. We enjoyed our dinner/lunch. Also, the lunch menu did have cheaper pricing, so that could help if you go for a mid-day meal on a weekend.

See my tip on the address. We loved this place. Wife had clam linguini and I had lobster al forno. We both had the roasted red pepper soup. It was all great. Service was really good. Store was clean. We would go back.

We'll worth the visit. I asked for Fettuccini Alfredo with seafood topping and they added mussels. Clams, scallops, shrimp which was great. Wonderful ambiance especially with the staff dressed for Halloween. Will gladly return again.

Italian Cuisine

The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.

Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.

If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.
